Letter from the owners:
We are a family-run, local, wine & seafood market, and proud members of the Central Maine community. Growing up in our home, life always revolved around good food and great wine. We cherish quality foods and simply wish to present our customers with the best selection of choices available. It is with that in mind that we stock our shop with the most diverse cheeses, freshest seafood, best local craft beers, and a worldly selection of wine. Whether you are a budding food aficionado, making dinner for the family, or entertaining friends, the Lighthouse will be your one-stop shop.
We look forward to sharing our passion and family with you, and can’t wait to see you at the Lighthouse!

About Our Logo
"When asked to design a new logo for the Lighthouse, I really wanted to go back to the basics. As an art history student in college, I was fascinated by what modern and contemporary artists called the "cult of childhood," a movement of art where serious artists would resort back to aesthetically "child-like" art styles.... think Jackson Pollock's splatter paint.
The basic assumption of "child art" is that children are natural artists needing only encouragement and no formal instruction. A child's art comes from inherent sources, and often the influence of adults can disrupt the natural process of their creative expression.
Art is a way for children to express feelings about the world, and how they see it, without having to conform to realistic considerations of depiction. The child sees the world as light, color and shapes.
So, instead of coming up with a serious logo for our small-town market, I grabbed watercolors and embraced my inner child--I mean, I was doing this for my parents after all."
